I spent Christmas in Dubbo Base Hospital due to a Hernia repair and I could not fault the care. Both the nursing and medical care from emergency through to the surgical ward the care was excellent.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional care and professionalism! I recently broke my wrist while I was travelling to Queensland camping and was treated at Dubbo Hospital, and I honestly couldn’t be more grateful for the care I received. From the moment I arrived at 2 am in the emergency department, the staff were kind, efficient, and reassuring. The doctors and nurses were professional and explained everything clearly, which really helped calm my nerves during a stressful time. The treatment was thorough, and they made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. It’s clear they really care about their patients, and they went above and beyond to make sure I was looked after properly. Huge thanks to everyone at Dubbo Hospital – you’ve done such a great job, and I truly appreciate it! Truly grateful Dee

I’ve unfortunately been to ED a couple of times, and the staff are always great - kind, patient and professional. Min (the physio) is an absolute angel - very proactive and absolutely lovely.

My pop was seen in the emergency department and treated there for 3 days before moving into a ward. He sends his compliments to the doctors and Nurses in the ED, as they were very professional and took great care of him. This extends to the ward he moved to. From this hospital, he was air-lifted to RPA hospital in a small plane through AirMed, where he had another caring, professional experience during such a daunting time. The staff, Steve and Sandy, gave him a card of the plane he was flown in and he prides it dearly. Thank you to everyone involved (John Rosa).

I was discharged from Dubbo Hospital after being admitted with a broken leg from a water-skiing accident. I cannot praise the staff in the Emergency Department and the surgical ward highly enough. My surgeon and the doctors were consistently informative, calm, and professional, taking the time to explain everything clearly. The hospital was meticulously clean, which was very reassuring. What was a very difficult operation was made far more bearable thanks to the exceptional care, skill, and compassion of everyone involved.

Took my son to tge hospital on Saturday 21st Feb as he hurt his finger during a fall. The ER was quick to triage us, get us to Xray and for Dr Martin to see us. Returned today Sunday 22nd, to get a cast on his hand ( tiny fracture) our experience was pleasant and speedy with all staff being extremely helpful and polite. Thank you Dubbo Base.

Thank you so much to the Nurse Zoe at the Emergency Department at Dubbo Base Hospital for caring and going above and beyond to ensure my Grandmother was cared for and that my sister and I got the opportunity to speak with her over the phone. Was trying all day, kept getting denied, but Zoe took it into consideration that it was important to us to give us clarity that our grandmother was doing okay. Thank you, Zoe not all superheroes wear capes ❤️

Dubbo Base Hospital – General Ward Checked in after a run-in with gravity and a pool edge. Stayed for the full regional NSW theatre experience. The general ward is less “hospital stay” and more community outreach event. Highlights included sharing space with: A women detoxing who was absolutely convinced there were people in the room who were not on the ward list. Several elderly ladies with fever induced dementia who were lovely, claiming to be Scottish and deeply unimpressed by the restriction on sugar in the tea. Ongoing conversations that began in 1974 and never really ended or started. Sleep was optional. Silence was a distant dream. At one point I wasn’t sure if I was hallucinating from pain, or if the hallucinations next to me were contagious. That said the staff were outstanding. Nurses handled pain meds, fire alarms, wandering patients, confused patients, loudly philosophical patients, and me (immobile, sweaty, and asking too many questions about why I was still unable to stand and return to my hypothetical stadium tour) with patience, humour, and zero judgement. Absolute pros. Calm, kind, and completely unfazed which you’d need to be in this environment. Doctors were thorough and cautious, clearly determined to rule out anything dramatic while my muscles staged a full-scale rebellion. I was reassured multiple times that I was not dying just having a spectacular disagreement with my own body. Special mention to: Endone Diazepam Buscopan MVP: Deep heat the nurses who deserve hazard pay and a statue in the Main Street (move over glen McGrath) Would I recommend the injury? Absolutely not. Would I recommend Dubbo Base Hospital if you find yourself accidentally joining the local ward circus? Yes. Five stars. Authentic regional experience. Bring earplugs.
